The Brandywine Red is an heirloom tomato with a lively plant that produces plump fruit up to 16 ounces each.  Arguably one of the best tasting tomatoes, the Brandywine Red heirloom tomato has a thin flesh covering a light red, delicious center.  Use this tomato in all your classic dishes, equally bringing excellence to both raw and cooked meals.

Planting instructions:Start Brandywine tomato heirloom seeds indoors 5-8 weeks before last spring frost in a sunny, warm location in pots or flats. Transplant brandywine tomato plant to a sunny, well drained location in the late spring when the ground is warm and all danger of frost has passed. The transplanted plants should be about 5-12 inches tall. Tomatoes can be sown directly into the garden when the soil and weather is warm. Staking Brandywine tomatoes upright or using a wire cage increases production.

Care:Water lightly to keep soil moist. Control weeds with cultivation or mulch.

Harvesting: Pick Brandywine tomatoes when fruits turn red. In late fall before any frost, green tomatoes can be picked and ripened in a warm area.

Nutritional Value: Heirloom Brandywine tomatoes are an excellent source of Vitamins: A, & C and contains B, calcium. Iron, and potassium.

Collecting Seed: Select a very mature Brandywine Red tomato and remove seeds. Allow seeds to thoroughly dry on a paper towel or cloth.
