The Blue Lake pole bean grows straight pods that reach up to 7" long. The pods stringless, dark green and smooth. The plant's high yield makes it a great plant for canning or freezing. The Blue Lake plant is Bean Common Mosaic Virus resistant.
Planting instructions:Plant Blue Lake beans when all danger of frost is gone in a sunny location. The enriched with organic material ground should be cultivated and loosened for best results. Press soil firmly over Blue Lake seeds and keep moist.
Care:Water Blue Lake plants lightly to keep soil moist but do not over water. Control weeds with cultivation or mulch. Some use of supports such as strings, fence, or poles will increase your yield of beans.
Harvesting: When picking the bean pods (ideal size 6-8") be careful not to damage the new blossoms that will form into your future bean crop. Pick young for best texture and flavor to prevent over mature stringy bean pods. Do not pick Blue Lake beans when plants are wet.
Nutritional Value: Rich source of minerals and vitamins with high fibre and low calorie benefits.
Collecting Seed: Select dry long healthy bean pods that rattle. Remove Blue Lake bean seeds when pods have dried completely. Store in a cool, dry area.

Gardening Tips
Many factors can affect the germination and growth of your garden or flower seeds. Try some of these suggestions to improve your seeds' chance of success:- Sometimes some seeds should soak in water for 4-6 hours before planting seeds in ground.
- Store seeds in cool dry location to prevent seeds germinating prematurely.
- Water freshly planted seeds or newly transplanted plants heavily.
- Use mulch around base of developing plants to prevent weeds.
- Compost your grasses, leaves etc before trying to grow vegetables or flowers that need rich soil.
