Diana Mix dianthus is an early blooming mixture with compact habit, usually reaching only 6" tall. Diana mix is perfect for containers or tight spaces and grows vigorously. The large flowers come in pink, crimson, scarlet and white with a red center. Fragrant flowers and great looks make this the ideal ground cover.

Planting:Dianthus is a fairly low maintenance flower with a bloom time from late spring to summer depending on the planting time. Plant outside after frosts are over and soil is warmed. Plant may be grown in containers or indoors.
Germination: Seeds usually take about 8 days to sprout. Warming soil with plastic or other coverings can help germination.
Transplant:When danger of frost is over, transplant to garden as close as 6" apart.
Soil and Light:Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy for best growth. Deadheading will encourage blooms. Seed pods will grow on plant and can be collected for next year's seeds.

Gardening Tips
Many factors can affect the germination and growth of your garden or flower seeds. Try some of these suggestions to improve your seeds' chance of success:- Sometimes some seeds should soak in water for 4-6 hours before planting seeds in ground.
- Store seeds in cool dry location to prevent seeds germinating prematurely.
- Water freshly planted seeds or newly transplanted plants heavily.
- Use mulch around base of developing plants to prevent weeds.
- Compost your grasses, leaves etc before trying to grow vegetables or flowers that need rich soil.
