The Prizehead is a fast growing lettuce with large loose leaves. The leaves are green with a reddish tint toward the ends. The heads are hefty and have crumpled, curly leaves.

Planting instructions:Plant Prizehead lettuce very early in the spring in a sunny location as soon as the ground may be cultivated and enriched with organic material. Press soil firmly over seeds. Sow Prizehead seeds sparingly and repeat every two weeks as long as the weather is cool (Spring/Fall)
Care: Keep free of weeds and regularly water lightly. Protect from insects. Start Prizehead seeds indoors for earlier crop.
Harvesting: Cut off 1-2 inches above the ground or pull the entire plant.
Nutritional Value:A excellent source of Chlorophyl, Iron, Calcium, and Vitamins: A, B1, B2, C, and Niacin.
Collecting Seed: Allow several Prizehead plants to produce flower seedstalks. A dandelion type flower head is formed after the plant blooms. The seed will separate from the chaff by rubbing flower head with your fingers. Store in a cool , dry area.

Gardening Tips
Many factors can affect the germination and growth of your garden or flower seeds. Try some of these suggestions to improve your seeds' chance of success:- Sometimes some seeds should soak in water for 4-6 hours before planting seeds in ground.
- Store seeds in cool dry location to prevent seeds germinating prematurely.
- Water freshly planted seeds or newly transplanted plants heavily.
- Use mulch around base of developing plants to prevent weeds.
- Compost your grasses, leaves etc before trying to grow vegetables or flowers that need rich soil.
