Planting instructions:Gourds can be started outdoors only in warmer areas. Colder areas will require you to start seeds indoors in large containers.
Care:Gourds thrive when vines are supported. Keep fruits off ground for rounded types like birdhouse. Others like Turks Turban should remain on ground to retain their unique shape.
Harvesting: Cut gourds off of vine with sharp knife. Leave as much steam as possible when harvesting, excess may be trimmed off after drying.
Nutritional Value: Gourds are generally grown for their decorative value.
