Henderson Bush Lima Bean Seeds

Planting instructions:Lima beans do poorly in cool soil. Plant beans when the soil has warmed and there is no danger of frost. Seeds can be soaked in warm water for a few hours to encourage germination. Be sure lima beans are planted in a well drained location because they will not do well if the ground is too soggy.

Care:Water lima beans lightly during warm spells. Control weeds with cultivation or mulch. Some use of supports such as strings, fence, or poles will increase your yield of lima beans.
Harvesting: When picking the lima bean pods be careful not to damage the new blossoms that will form into your future bean crop. Pick young for best texture and flavor to prevent over mature stringy bean pods. Do not pick when plants are wet.

Collecting Seed: Select dry long healthy lima bean pods that rattle. Remove seeds when pods have dried completely. Store lima beans in a cool, dry area.
