Planting instructions:Artichoke seeds may be planted directly outside if the climate has over 100 frost free days. If growing season is short, start inside 6-8 weeks before last frost then transplant to garden.
Care:Keep Green Globe artichokes well watered and use straw or grass clipping around base.
Harvesting:Plant will not produce bulbs or flowers during the first year. Cut flower buds that are 3-4" across. Start with the topmost bud, which should be the largest.
Nutritional Value: Green globe artichokes are a good source of fiber.
Collecting Seed: Allow globes to dry out. Seeds are located near base of the thistle. Artichoke seeds should be firm and dry.
